Rapper and YouTuber DDG has released a new track titled “Don’t Take My Son,” in which he addresses ongoing co-parenting issues with his ex-girlfriend, actress and singer Halle Bailey.

In the chorus, DDG expresses his emotions with the lines: “Don’t take my son because he’s all I got/I’m just having fun, I don’t love these thots.”

Later in the song, he adds, “Tryna make me pay to see my son, that’s gonna make me hot,” which hints at the possibility of court-ordered child support.

The song follows a post from DDG on X (formerly Twitter) where shared his frustrations, saying,

“Been fighting to see my son for months now…shout out to all the Dads who try their best to be there. This sh*t sucks.”

In a YouTube video titled “She Won’t Let Me See My Son,” DDG revealed more details, saying the conflict with Halle has been going on since they split in October 2024.

He explained that he’s tried to keep things private, but things got so tough that he felt the need to speak out. He described feeling like he’s being “bullied” just for wanting to be a good dad.

“I don’t really like talking about real-life sh*t, but I feel like I have to,” said DDG. “It’s getting to a point where I feel like I’m honestly getting bullied when it comes to me just wanting to be a dad.”

He continued, “I been dealing with this forever where I feel like I’m a secondary parent,” adding, “Every time I’m [with him], he got a smile on his face, he’s happy to see me, but he only can see me for no more than 48 hours. I haven’t had to have my son to myself for longer than 72 hours. He’s getting picked up, taken away. I can’t come get him, whatever.”

DDG said he doesn’t want to take things to court because he knows it would get messy. Still, he believes that if they did, a judge would give him more time with his son.

“I don’t want to go to court,” he added in the livestream. “It’s going to get extremely messy and it don’t have to happen. I think it’s in her best interest to not want to go to court either, where we can just have a clear understanding.”

“We go to court, the judge is going to give me some time,” he added. “And when I got the time, I’m gonna do whatever I want with my son.”
