PK Kemsley has recently opened up about how his decision to encourage Dorit Kemsley to join The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills might have played a role in the dissolution of their marriage. Reflecting on this pivotal choice, PK admits that he holds himself responsible to some extent, suggesting that without his influence, Dorit may never have ventured into the world of reality television.
PK Kemsley said he once pushed Dorit Kemsley to join the cast of ‘RHOBH’
As PK reflects on his current situation, he often ponders how their lives might have unfolded differently had Dorit not become a part of RHOBH. He acknowledges that it was his persuasion that ultimately led her to join the show.
Speaking candidly on the We Need to Talk podcast, PK shared his thoughts, stating, “When you’re facing the repercussions of your actions, whether it’s Dorit’s or mine, the question is, who ignited the spark? I did. I encouraged her to be on the show. She was initially hesitant.”
PK explained that the idea was introduced to him by a friend, who presented it as a strategy to establish themselves in Los Angeles.
“A very close friend of mine, someone who’s a formidable figure in the music industry, advised me when we moved to L.A.,” PK recounted. “He said, ‘There are only three ways to break into L.A.: Money, power, and celebrity.’ I took that advice to heart.”
“I had a very dear friend of mine who’s another one of these super unbelievable kings of industry, this particular guy in the music business, but about as big as you can get, and when we went to L.A., he said to me, ‘There are only three entry points in L.A., PK: Money, power, and celebrity,’” he said. “That’s what he told me, and I’m like, ‘Okay.’”
He said that he also wanted to show off his wife to people.
“I, first of all, believed that I had the most beautiful, charismatic, sharp, ferociously ambitious wife, and I wanted to show her off,” he said.

PK said that the reality show started to become a problem in their lives.
“That show was fun until it wasn’t,” PK said. “I was blind to what was going on, what was happening. I didn’t act soon enough, and because my personality is a double down guy — I don’t like walking away from a bet, get this bet — I had no regard for the global awareness of this show.”
While he doesn’t solely blame the show for his divorce, he believes that it has changed Dorit.
“I’m not blaming that show [for] my divorce or my relationship or who I think Dorit is now versus who I think she was, or who I am now,” he said. “I think the biggest question that I have that will never be answered is that, is Dorit where she was always going to be and always going to end up, or was I responsible for putting her in that world and then that world created what happened now?”
He also accused her of living an overly expensive lifestyle
In court documents, PK claimed that Dorit spent over $1 million on luxury goods in the past year. Per Us Weekly, this is roughly 80% of Dorit’s available funds. His accusations about her spending come amid rumors that her house is facing foreclosure.
He claimed that she has not been making mortgage payments on the home, and has only made one utility payment. PK appears to be pursuing the sale of the house. He has been making the mortgage and utility payments.
