Eva Mendes is making it clear that her love for Ryan Gosling is permanently inked—and still very much cherished.
Four years after first revealing the body art, the Ghost Rider star opened up about the sentimental meaning behind her first and only tattoo: a wrist design that reads “de Gosling,” honoring the Crazy, Stupid, Love actor.
Mendes, who has been romantically linked to Gosling since the two met while filming 2011’s The Place Beyond the Pines, shared a series of black-and-white photos from a recent shoot on Instagram Aug. 28. When one image gave fans another glimpse at the tattoo, a follower reacted, “The tattoo, I can’t!”
“It’s the only one I have,” Mendes wrote back, “the only one I’ve ever wanted.”

The 52-year-old actress, who shares daughters Esmeralda, 11, and Amada, 10, with Gosling, punctuated the affectionate reply with a heart-eyes emoji.
Mendes first publicly unveiled her tattoo in 2022, with her ink—which translates to “of Gosling” in several languages—making appearances in multiple posts on her Instagram that summer and fall.
Yet, the Hitch actress hinted that she got the tattoo much earlier than people may believe.
