Farmer Wants A Wife host Samantha Armytage admits she was ‘shocked’ to hear Clare and Farmer Brad’s baby news but is ‘happy’ for the couple: ‘They’re over the moon’

Samantha Armytage believed of all the couples on this year’s season of Farmer Wants A Wife, Farmer Brad and Clare Hockings were the least likely to start a family.
The host, 46, of the matchmaking show said she was shocked to hear the lovebirds were expecting their first baby just months after falling in love on the series.
She expected them to announce a pregnancy ‘least of all’ but was ‘happy’ to see them building a life together, reported 7Life on Wednesday.
‘I spoke to Vicki the producer who told me that there was a baby on the way in Cootamundra and I was quite shocked and then very, very happy,’ she said.
‘I think it was a bit of a surprise to them too but they are over the moon so that’s great. I don’t know if they were planning it.’

She continued: ‘I think it just sort of happened. I think they were a bit shocked too, but no it’s good news.’
Clare, 28, and Brad, 32, announced last week they are expecting their first child together, just months after meeting on the show.
The couple shared the happy news via Instagram by uploading a photo of themselves posing with a pair of baby shoes.

‘We’re so excited to meet our newest little farm hand! Baby Jones due December,’ Clare wrote.
Speaking to New Idea magazine, the couple admitted their baby joy was a surprise.
‘We didn’t think it would happen as quick as it did,’ Brad told the publication, adding: ‘We’re on the same page and just happy doing life together.’

Clare told the magazine her pregnancy has been smooth sailing for the most part, except for a bout of morning sickness and lethargy in her first trimester.
The couple previously spoke to New Idea magazine about their family plans in May, shortly after Clare had moved in with Brad on his rural property in Cootamundra, NSW.
Brad had described their relationship as ‘cruising along’, telling the magazine that he and Clare had ‘discussed kids’ but weren’t rushing to ‘put a timeline on it’.
Brad and Clare also confirmed they aren’t in any rush to get married either, however things may have changed since then.
