And just like that, another Bachelor Franchise couple bites the dust.
Nearly three months after Bachelor Nation watched The Bachelor Season 29 lead Grant Ellis get engaged to Juliana Pasquarosa and reunite during the live After The Final Rose special to tell the world how happy they were, the two announced their split via Instagram Stories.
“This is one of the harder things I’ve had to write, but I want to share it honestly. Juliana and I have decided to end our relationship. We both gave this our best and poured a lot of love into each other, but after a lot of deep conversations, we’ve come to the understanding that we’re simply not the right fit long term,” Ellis wrote alongside a photo of him and Pasquarosa showing off her famous Neil Lane engagement ring.
“What we had was meaningful. The connection we built on the show was real, and so was the effort we made to continue once the cameras stopped rolling. There’s no negativity here. No resentment. Just two people who care about each other and want the best for one another moving forward. I’ll always be grateful for what we shared and for the growth that came with it,” Ellis continued. “Thank you to everyone who supported us and believed in our journey. This chapter is closing, but we’re both walking away with love and respect in our hearts.”
Atop a photo of her an Ellis meeting on Night 1 of The Bachelor, Pasquarosa shared her own message to followers via Instagram Story, writing, “It’s a gift to find someone who sees the world in a way that resonates with you, while also encouraging you to grow. I’ve been grateful to share that experience with Grant… Marriage is a commitment, and it’s one we both still believe in deeply. After a lot of honest conversations and reflection, we’ve come to the decision that this chapter of our lives is meant to continue on separate paths.”
“We shared something meaningful, navigating a unique journey side by side, learning, growing, and showing up for each other the best we knew how,” the Bachelor Season 29 winner explained. “And while this isn’t the ending we once imagined, it’s one filled with mutual respect, care, and hope for what’s ahead. We’re still cheering each other on, just from different places now. I’m beyond thankful for all the love and support you all have given us. Please be kind.”
During The Bachelor‘s three-hour finale event on March 24, Bachelor Nation watched Ellis say goodbye to his runner-up Litia Garr and get engaged to Pasquarosa. During the live After The Final Rose event, Ellis and Pasquarosa excitedly shared plans to move to Boston together, and they later told Decider how much they enjoyed their Happy Couple era. As members of Bachelor Nation know from watching a number of other The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradise, and The Golden Bachelor breakups, however, it’s not always easy to return to the real post-show world and adapt to life as a couple.
Since The Golden Bachelor premiered in September 2023, the franchise has only seen two out of five relationships last. The Bachelor Season 28 lead Joey Graziadei and his fiancé Kelsey Anderson are still going strong, as are Golden Bachelorette Joan Vassos and her man Chock Chapple, but in addition to Ellis and Pasquarosa’s split, The Bachelorette‘s Jenn Tran and her ex Devon Strader broke up in a devastating fashion before their finale even aired. And The Golden Bachelor‘s Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist announced “The Golden Divorce” three months after their live televised wedding.
With The Bachelorette reportedly on pause in 2025 and a discouraging success rate amongst couples, perhaps it’s time for the franchise to reevaluate its process. Bachelor in Paradise is set to return with its highly-anticipated Season 10 on July 7, so it will be interesting to see what changes have been made after the spin-off’s year-long hiatus.
