The NCIS franchise is gearing up for a major milestone. The 1,000th episode of the NCISverse — spanning the flagship series, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: Hawai’i, NCIS: New Orleans, and NCIS: Sydney — airs tonight.
In the episode, fittingly titled “A Thousand Yards,” “NCIS comes under attack by a mysterious enemy from the past,” per a CBS press release. Rocky Carroll’s Vance also “tries to mend fences with his estranged son by explaining why, despite the ongoing dangers of his job, he still chooses to stay at NCIS.”
The special episode is set to feature cameos from NCIS: Los Angeles‘ Daniela Ruah and NCIS: Hawai’i‘s Vanessa Lachey.
NCIS star Wilmer Valderrama, who plays Special Agent Nick Torres, took to Instagram on April 3 to share a promo for tonight’s episode, per Good Housekeeping.
“What a privilege to share the screen with all these amazing people, and a greater honor to be part of such an iconic legacy for #NCIS,” he penned, in part.
On Sunday (April 14), he also posted about tonight’s episode, highlighting that it “will pay homage to the fans around the world.”
Brian Dietzen also honored the series’ landmark episode with a montage on Instagram, noting that he’s “cherished the past 21 years” as Jimmy Palmer, and thanking fans for their support.
The network also announced in a press release last Tuesday (April 16) that the flagship series was renewed for Season 22.

Tonight’s (April 15) installment of NCIS airs at its usual time: 9 p.m. ET to 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
