Brittney Aitken has officially stepped into motherhood!
The daughter of rapper Ja Rule, Brittney, has welcomed her first child, a baby girl, alongside her husband Tevin Aitken. Tevin shared this heartwarming news on Instagram, posting a touching photo from the hospital where Brittney is seen cradling their newborn daughter.
“She is here. Truly an amazing moment to experience with my wife. A pain I would never want to endure. Thank you for giving me my baby girl. Thank you to all friends and family for all the love and support you guys continue to give us. Now it’s time for the sleepless nights lol #TeamDad,” expressed the proud new father in his post.
In the weeks leading up to their daughter’s birth, the couple eagerly anticipated her arrival. Earlier this month, they celebrated the upcoming addition to their family with a charming strawberry-themed baby shower at The Grand Lux Venue in New Jersey.
The world first learned of Brittney and Tevin’s pregnancy last year when Ja Rule shared the joyous news during an appearance on the talk show “Sherri,” expressing his excitement about becoming a grandfather for the first time.
“I’m about to be a grandfather,” he said. “That don’t even sound right.”
He also explained how Brittney revealed the news to him and his wife.
“It was very cute the way she did it. She put the sonogram in a box and it was a card that said, ‘You’re now grandma and grandfather,’ and the sonogram was in the thing,” he said.
“And she said, ‘I got a gift for you guys.’ And we thought it was a real gift,” he continued. “So, we go into the room … and we open it up and she got the camera on.”
“You can see my expression, see me and wifey’s expression,” he added. “And it was an amazing moment.”
Ja Rule also shared that he already has a nickname in mind for his new role.
“I think I’m going to steal my name from the Notorious B.I.G. Yeah. I love it when they call me Big Poppa,” he said.
