The acclaimed singer and talk show host delighted her fans by sharing snapshots from her magical day at the amusement park on social media. The images captured Hudson and her 16-year-old son enjoying the rides and relishing precious family moments together.
“Celebrating Mother’s Day the Mama Hud way! We had such a memorable time, y’all! It was wonderful spending this enchanting day at @Disneyland with my son and my crew! Huge thanks for making this day extra special!” Hudson wrote, expressing her joy.
This delightful outing came just days after an emotional surprise on The Jennifer Hudson Show’s May 7 episode. During the show, Hudson was taken by surprise when David appeared from backstage, presenting her with a homemade pound cake as an early Mother’s Day gift.

Hudson had no idea her son was backstage before he suddenly walked onto the set carrying a homemade pound cake.
“David!” Hudson said as she stood up to hug him. “Y’all got me again.”
The moment became even sweeter after David revealed that he baked the cake himself using a recipe passed down through their family.
“This is your mom’s special recipe, so I made it for Mother’s Day. I love you,” he told her.
Hudson later explained that the pound cake recipe originally belonged to her late mother and has been part of their family traditions for years.
“My mother always made this pound cake,” she shared. “For Mother’s Day, birthdays, all special occasions, he always makes it for me.”
The surprise clearly caught Hudson off guard, especially after realizing why her son had been acting distant earlier that day.
“He said he was coming here today, and I’m like, ‘David ain’t got here,’” she recalled. “Then to hear you come out here, you done baked the cake.”
Hudson shares David with David Otunga Sr. The former couple welcomed their son in 2009 before ending their relationship in 2017.
