Lil Wayne and Sarah Vivan made a spirited appearance on the sidelines this past weekend to cheer on their son, Dwayne Carter III, as he embarked on a new high school football season.

The 17-year-old placekicker was in action with the Gainesville Red Elephants facing off against the formidable Buford Wolves during their season opener on August 22. The game, which was broadcast nationwide on ESPN2, drew a crowd of over 12,000 passionate fans.
Dwayne wasted no time in making an impact, nailing a 35-yard field goal that put Gainesville ahead with a 3-0 lead.
Continuing his strong performance, the young kicker added a 25-yard field goal in the second quarter, narrowing the Red Elephants’ deficit to a single point at 7-6.

Despite their best efforts, Gainesville succumbed to a 39-19 defeat as the Wolves surged ahead in the latter stages of the game.
Sarah shared several photos from the game on Instagram, including one of her, Dwayne and his sister Essence posing in matching “Carter 82” shirts.
In another photo, Sarah and Essence were joined by Lil Wayne and two other people as they turned their backs to the camera to show off their T-shirts.
“You know we gon rep our set,” Sarah captioned the post.
Back in April, the proud mom watched her son reach another milestone when he attended his junior prom. Sarah admitted that seeing Dwayne all dressed up had her reflecting on how quickly he was growing up.
“I had a moment yesterday where I just stepped back and watched him be the amazing young gentleman I always prayed for him to be. Thank God I still got one more year,” she wrote.
Dwayne was born on Oct. 22, 2008, and is the only child Lil Wayne and Sarah share. He is the rapper’s eldest son and carries his father’s full name, Dwayne Michael Carter.
The high school athlete has also shown an interest in music over the years. In 2020, he appeared on his dad’s No Ceilings 3 mixtape, rapping under the name Lil Tune.
In addition to Dwayne, Lil Wayne is dad to daughter Reginae Carter with Toya Johnson, son Kameron Carter with Lauren London, and son Neal Carter with singer Nivea.
