A woman recently expressed her appreciation for the respectful response from a man who gracefully accepted her decision when she declined his advances. She emphasized that his behavior stood out in contrast to her previous experiences with other men.
The woman recalled the incident during a bus ride. She was on her way back from taking measurements for clients when she encountered this man.
As she shared, she sensed the man’s interest in striking up a conversation. Coincidentally, they both disembarked at the same stop.
Upon leaving the bus, she attempted to catch a motorcycle but reconsidered due to the high fare. The man kindly suggested she take a tricycle and directed her to the appropriate location.
Man accepts rejection without argument
Grateful for his help, she thanked him. It was then that he introduced himself and expressed a desire to know her better.
The lady said, “I told him no I do not want to get to know you and this guy said you don’t want to know me?”
She maintained her decision, after which the man simply said goodbye and walked away.
The lady said she was shocked by his reaction because she had previously experienced situations where men continued following or walking with her despite rejecting their advances.
Lady praises man’s response
Reflecting on the encounter, she said, “A woman’s no is not for you to prove yourself. A no is a no. Take it and go.”
She further stated, “I was so happy. That has never happened to me before. I’ve had men walk with me to my house after I said no.”
The lady described the man’s conduct as commendable, stressing that women should be able to reject advances without being pressured to explain themselves.
Her experience has since sparked discussion about respecting boundaries and accepting rejection in dating and everyday interactions.
