Singer Myles Stephenson has revealed that the moment he ‘severed my thumb off’ while cooking on Celebrity Masterchef won’t be aired on TV.

The Rak-Su band member, 28, was bleeding so heavily that filming of the popular TV show had to be stopped while medics rushed to the scene.

And Myles has revealed that the gruesome moment won’t be shown in the episode because ‘it’s so gory’.

Myles said that he sliced the top of his thumb off while chopping spring onions and has been left with permanent damage.

He told The Sun: ‘They’re not showing it because it’s so gory, but I severed my thumb off, said Myles as he revealed the incident from Saturday’s episode.

He went on: ‘I was speed-chopping and wasn’t looking at where my thumb was and ended up cutting a massive chunk out of my thumb. Now it’s fairly oddly shaped.’

Myles, who became the de facto head chef during his time on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! last year, has so far impressed judges on Masterchef.

Presenters John Torode and Greg Wallace praised Myles’s jerk chicken in Wednesday night’s episode although they criticised his ‘raw’ rack of lamb.

Myles says he takes criticism from the judges constructively because he believes that even though it’s a competition, it’s ‘fun and entertainment for people watching at home’.

He added: ‘I didn’t want to come across as a bit of an a***hole’.

Myles then explained how he sliced his thumb off when he started showing off in front of the camera while ‘speed chopping’.

The singer said that he learnt the technique from a friend of his who’s a chef but admitted that while trying to employ it in front of the camera he started ‘showing off’.

Myles is competing against 19 other celebrities and survived through Wednesday night when he cooked alongside Apprentice star Thomas Skinner, comedian Judi Love, footballer John Barnes and Death In Paradise actor Shyko Amos.

Shyko was the first celebrity to be eliminated from the BBC show.
