Nicola Peltz has shared a touching nod to her close pal Selena Gomez, after it was revealed she’s sought comfort from the actress in the midst of her rift with husband Brooklyn Beckham’s family. 

The singer and actress, who has been friends with the American heiress, since 2022 has reportedly been distracting Nicola with wedding plans for her upcoming nuptials to Benny Blanco.

In a new post on Instagram Stories, Nicola made reference to the matching ‘angel’ tattoos she and Selena have.

The snap showed an angel statue, and she captioned the post: ‘I’m so grateful for the angels in my life.’

A source previously told DailyMail.com that Nicola has long had an ally in close pal Selena, who is desperately trying to comfort her in the wake of the ugly family feud – and is said to be hopeful that the rift can be mended.

‘Selena is always there for her friends if, and when they need anything,’ an insider told DailyMail.com exclusively. ‘She has been messaging Nicola and trying to keep her mind off the drama. 

‘She has been talking about her upcoming wedding and loves getting Nicola’s advice.’

Selena, 32, and Nicola, 30, have been inseparable since striking up a friendship in late 2022 when they met at the Academy Museum Gala. Soon followed gushing declarations of their bond, including matching outfits and even ‘angel’ tattoos. 

So close are the pair that Selena even joked that she was in a ‘throuple’ with Nicola and Brooklyn, 26, after the trio rang in the New Year together in Mexico in 2023.

Brooklyn jokingly confirmed this during an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show in March, describing Selena as ‘such a sweet girl.’

‘I love when my wife makes new friends, especially really great friends,’ he said. ‘You know, we all get along.’

The same cannot currently be said for Brooklyn and his family who are at the centre of a heartbreaking froideur. 

The rift has been a blow for David and Victoria who have made no secret of the importance of family throughout their 26-year marriage, frequently sharing intimate moments with their millions of followers while simultaneously cementing their Beckham brand.

But a chasm now exists between them all, something that was felt viscerally when Brooklyn was absent from David’s multiple 50th birthday celebrations.

It was the latest in a string of no shows for the Cloud23 founder who was last pictured with his family on Boxing Day 2024. He also failed to publicly acknowledge not only his dad, but also his mum’s recent birthday, a noticeable shift after years of fawning over his superstar parents on Instagram.

But he did share a heartfelt tribute to Nicola’s grandmother on the anniversary of her death last week.

David did appear to offer an olive branch last Sunday, tagging his eldest in a post celebrating Mother’s Day in the U.S, something Brooklyn failed to acknowledge publicly. Victoria also noticeably tagged her son in a post marking her dad Tony’s 78th birthday this weekend.

Seemingly proving that he has no plans to reconcile anytime soon, Brooklyn and Nicola failed to see his family when they flew into London for a new modelling campaign with upscale fashion company Moncler earlier this week.

Brooklyn was half a mile away from his dad and opted to stay with his wife at the Park Lane hotel over the Beckham family home.

It is no secret that relations started to sour in the run-up to Nicola and Brooklyn’s £3 million wedding, which was held at her billionaire father Nelson’s estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

The story goes that the actress shunned a dress made by her mother-in-law in favour of a Valentino gown – which wasn’t well received. All the while the Beckhams were said to be upset by the Peltzes who they felt were taking over the wedding.

Since their big day in April 2022, the two families have not reunited, and Nicola has rarely been pictured with the Beckhams, including her husband’s siblings Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 13.

Instead, Brooklyn has fully assimilated himself with his in-laws, growing increasingly close to Nicola’s brothers and skipping his own family gatherings – including a trip to Muskoka in Canada and sailing around the European coast last summer – for quality time with his new relatives.

He has also slotted himself in with Nicola’s friends, spending more time with his new American clique, namely Selena and her fiancé Benny.

‘Benny loves doing group dinners, being home, inviting people over and hanging out,’ the insider said. ‘Nicola and Brooklyn are always invited when they are around. The dynamics of family issues are usually left on the wayside.’ 

A second source also revealed how Nicola has been confiding in Selena amid the bubbling drama, playfully dubbed ‘Beckxit’ – and even claimed the former Disney star is ‘hopeful’ that the sparring family can heal.

‘Selena and Benny have recently spent time with both Nicola and Brooklyn,’ they said. ‘Nicola has confided in Selena because they genuinely relate to each other.

‘Selena is hopeful things will settle down.’
