Clover’s baby brother, Icon Chrome, joined them on the couch as she asked her father about his music career, spirituality, family life and the things he misses when they are separated.

Her question about what he misses most prompted one of the most heartfelt exchanges of the conversation.

“I miss, like, the magic you carry,” NLE Choppa told his daughter. “It’s a certain type of twinkle that you carry, and just letting me know that you, um, truly sent to my life for a divine reason. You always know how to make things feel better.”

The Memphis rapper then shared a memory from when Clover was only 3 years old, recalling how she recognized that her father was struggling.

“You walked up to me and you grabbed my hands and you said, ‘Daddy, let’s pray,’” he remembered. “You was three years old.”
NLE Choppa explained that he had never instructed Clover to pray with him. Instead, she noticed that something was wrong and comforted him on her own.

“You seen that I was going through something and you walked up to me as a three-year-old giant, grabbed both of my hands and said, ‘Daddy, let’s pray,’” he continued. “You an angel, bro.”

Clover appeared ready to skip past the emotional moment and move on with her interview.

“She too cute for me. She ain’t trying to get emotional,” her father joked.

At another point, Clover asked her dad what it was like to find fame while he was still young.

“If I was to go back in time, I never felt like I was a child around that time,” NLE Choppa said. “I never felt like a child.”

He described the surreal reaction he received when he returned to school after his music career took off.

“Bro, tell me why when I blew up and I went back to school, like, it was like a concert,” he said. “Like, everybody was in my face, the whole school.”

Clover recognized the feeling, revealing that she has experienced a similar kind of attention.

“It’s, like, a lot of people that know me from school, like, they know me from TV,” she said. “They be always following me.”

Her comment immediately showed NLE Choppa that his daughter understood the pressures he was describing.

“You already feel what I’m feeling, ’cause you a superstar yourself,” he told her. “So you understand what I’m saying?”
