Marilyn Monroe told us that, “diamonds are a girls best friend”. In a new social media post, 10-year-old North West is supporting that old adage as she is photographed dripping in diamonds. Needless to say, the post has fans divided.
Kim Kardashian shared the recent post of her eldest daughter with her 364 million Instagram followers. North is seen covered in dazzling diamonds, with the post caption reading, “Stylist of the year.” As you would expect, the court of internet opinion had much to say.
Without further ado…to the comments!
“She’s too young for this, sorry!” read one comment.
Another social media user wrote, “It makes me sick to see this when there are people who can’t afford to eat.”
One Instagram user referenced the Paris robbery incident when the SKIMS founder was robbed at gunpoint and her jewelry was taken. The social media fan questioned, “Is Kim over her robbery trauma and showing off again?”
In 2016 after the robbery, Kardashian said on her hit Hulu series that, “After I was robbed in Paris, I haven’t bought jewelry. I haven’t really been about wearing jewelry, because when it was taken from me, it was such a – I didn’t know I was ready for that experience and what that meant, but I was. I was ready to, like, give it up.”
Another comment read, “She’s probably wearing my college tuition.”
One social media user simply finds North, “obnoxious.”
Yet, not all of the commenters had negative things to say about North and her sparkle.
One person asked if North could, “style me for Coachella next year?!”
Another agreed with North’s styling skills, saying, “Northie can style me any day … she’s my vibe!”
And a final Kardashian fan simply wrote, “perfection.”
From Paris Fashion Week to her artistic TikTok videos to being center stage performing with her father, North has always displayed a unique sense of style and self-confidence to pull off any look. Are people reading too much into this posted pic? Can it simply be seen as a shot of a little girl playing dress-up in her mother’s jewelry, channeling her own creative expression?
