The star of ‘The Real Housewives of Orange County’ addressed her son’s actions, condemning them as ‘unacceptable,’ and acknowledged the incident as a ‘tough learning moment’ for her family on social media.

Jennifer Pedranti, rather than enjoying the season 20 premiere of The Real Housewives of Orange County on Bravo this Thursday, found herself dispelling rumors related to her son’s involvement in sparking a potentially hazardous fire in their Southern California neighborhood.

On July 9, Jennifer used her Instagram Story to confront circulating whispers concerning one of her children’s alleged connection to a recent brush fire in Ladera Ranch.

“He and others were involved,” the Bravo star wrote. “My ex-husband and myself take this very serious. This behavior is unacceptable and we are deeply sorry to our community. This is a tough learning moment for our son and our family.”

Jennifer shares four sons and a daughter with her former husband, William Pedranti: Harrison, 22, Dawson, 19, Greyson, 16, Everleigh, 14, and Dominic, 12. She did not share which son was involved in starting the fire.

The Ladera Ranch blaze broke out on Tuesday. It eventually spread to seven acres, according to a Facebook update from the Orange County Fire Authority.

“We’re making great progress and stopped the spread toward homes,” OCFA Capt. Sean Doran told My News LA on July 7. “We’re looking good.”

As of July 8, the fire was under control, per a post from the OCFA on X.

‘RHOC’ star is ‘so thankful’ nobody was hurt in the fire

In her Instagram post, Jennifer said she and her family were “so thankful” that the fire did not cause any injuries or property damage.

“The fire and police were absolutely amazing and gave these boys a lesson they will never forget. There were no arrests made, but consequences for their actions are being put in place,” she added.

Jennifer said that her son would be taking a fire safety course “to make sure a mistake like this never happens again.”

“There are consequences within our family and we will make sure our son learns from this accident.”

Wildfires are a serious threat in California, with 182,197 acres burned in 2025 alone, according to CalFire. That year began with the outbreak of multiple deadly and destructive fires in the Los Angeles area. The Eaton Fire burned over 14,000 acres, destroyed 9,413 structures, and caused 19 deaths. The Palisades Fire burned nearly 24,000 acres, destroyed 6,833 structures, and killed 12 people. Those fires are the second- and third-most destructive in California history, after 2018’s Camp Fire, which devastated the Northern California town of Paradise and killed 85 people.
