Todd and Julie Chrisley were released from prison earlier this week after receiving a pardon from President Donald Trump.
On Friday, reality TV personality Todd Chrisley, 56, spoke out for the first time since his release from prison. By his side at the May 30 press conference were his attorney, Alex Little, and his daughter, Savannah Chrisley. Noticeably absent was his wife, Julie Chrisley, who’d also received a pardon from President Donald Trump.

Julie had a good reason for skipping the event. The 52-year-old was at home with her daughter, Todd explained.
“She’s at home with Chloe right now, and Chloe will not let her go,” the ex-Chrisley Knows Best star said (via YouTube), referring to his and his wife’s 12-year-old daughter. (Todd and Julie adopted Chloe, who is the biological daughter of Toddy’s son Kyle, in 2016.)
“We’re blessed to have our family back,” he added. “And we’re blessed to be coming back to television.”
In 2022, Todd and Julie were convicted of running a $36 million bank fraud and tax evasion scheme. They were freed earlier this week after spending more than two years behind bars.
The Chrisleys will return to TV in a Lifetime docuseries
While Julie is keeping a low profile for now, fans of the Chrisley family will likely get to see her emotional reunion with her daughters at some point. The Chrisleys are due to return to TV in a new docuseries for Lifetime. During the press conference, Savannah and Todd confirmed that cameras have been rolling on the new episodes.
“We started filming literally the night that we got home,” Todd said.
“As soon as we got home,” Savannah added. “So I think with this new series, you will see the first time me and mom see each other for the first time.”
The as-yet-untitled series sounds like it will strike a different tone than Chrisley Knows Best, which played up the family’s wacky antics for comic effect. The upcoming show will look at the family’s life post-trial and the case against Todd and Julie, including their insistence that they were victims of a politically motivated prosecution.
“We had been filming, and we had just wrapped filming for all intents and purposes. And then we get the call that they had been pardoned,” Savannah said. “So, we picked right back up. And we’re excited … we’re going to set the record straight.”
