Sinitta has hit out at Celebs Go Dating producers for their ‘disgraceful editing’ which stated she is ‘still in love’ with her on-off ex-boyfriend of 20 years Simon Cowell.

The singer, 59, met the music boss, 63, when she was just 14, and went on to become the first signing to his record label – and she has previously admitted that she loves him ‘with all her heart’.

But after watching back the most recent episode of her latest show Celebs Go Dating, single Sinitta was left not best pleased as she claims those editing the show misrepresented their relationship.

Hitting out: Sinitta has slammed Celebs Go Dating producers for their ‘disgraceful editing’ which said she is ‘still in love’ with her on-off ex-boyfriend of 20 years Simon Cowell (pictured together during X Factor filming)

Sinitta took to Twitter to complain of her upset after watching the newest instalment of the E4 reality dating show.

‘Disgraceful editing!’, she wrote to her 132,000 followers.

‘To say I was still “in love” with @SimonCowell was a huge disservice to me and my endeavours.

‘Why did you do this? Love and “in Love” are very different @CelebsGoDating @awilliamsonTV @PaulCBrunson #iTrustedYou.’

Earlier this year, Sinitta exclusively spoke to MailOnline about her relationship with Simon Cowell over the years, admitting that she experienced heartache when he ‘broke their secret pact’ by dating her ‘best friend’ Lauren Silverman in 2013.

She believed the pair would be re-kindling their romance around the same time.

The singer famously dated the music mogul in the 80s when she was signed to his label, Fanfare Records, but has now confessed she ‘wanted to still be with him’ into the early 2010s and ‘genuinely thought they were working things out’.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline at Metro’s 50 Years of Pride celebration, sponsored by Visit Malta, in London, she added that she’s accepted it was ‘unrequited love’ and is now keen on officiating their upcoming wedding in her capacity as an ordained minister.

She went on to claim she’d been close pals with Simon’s fiancée since her children Magdelena and Zac, both 17, ‘used to play’ with the socialite’s son Adam, now 16, from a previous marriage to Andrew Silverman.

The TV personality said of her hopes for a future with Simon: ‘It was about 10 years ago and yeah I was wanting to still be with him then, yes. So that was upsetting and… unrequited love but I’m not gonna kill myself over it.

‘It was kind of on and off, on and off, so there was kind of an unspoken understanding that was obviously a misunderstanding on my part but it’s ok.

‘I’m not the villain cos I genuinely thought we were working things out and that’s why it was upsetting but that’s life, right? Maybe I’ll meet someone at his wedding.’

The X Factor creator met Lauren when she was still married to millionaire property developer Andrew.

Their affair famously became public and Simon’s life changed at the end of July 2013 when news broke of Lauren’s pregnancy with their son Eric.

Back in 2009, Sinitta spoke to MailOnline again, revealing details about her past marriage to Andy Willner.

After separating for nearly two years at the time, she said she thought about Andy ‘a lot’.

‘Every day I remembermore and more great things about my husband. As you heal, you think, “What did we break up about? Why did I leave you in the first place?”

‘Istill love him. He still loves me. He wasn’t the wrong person – it’sjust our lives are going in different directions now. I regret notbeing with him,’ she added, weeping.

She also went on to describe Simon as her ‘escape’ – and she his – as they relaxed on billionaire Sir Philip Green’s yacht alongside his wife Tina.

‘With Simon, I couldsit on a boat for two weeks and just relax. We escape together. That’sprobably what it is with us. I’m his escape, I would say, and he’smine. On the boat, I was able to think, “Okay, when my babies comeback, we start a new life”.

‘I love him withall my heart,’ she says. ‘When we are together, he’s a very primaryperson in my life. But he wants to be a single guy.

‘He wants to see whohe wants to see when he wants to see them. I’m a very monogamous woman.I need someone who will put me first the whole time.’

She added that her relationship with Simon was an ‘incredible, undefinablefriendship’.

‘I like the familiarity, the security, and I really trusthim. So many people would love us to get back together, andI can see why. I’ve even said to him, “Why don’t we?”

‘But I think ourlives have become so complicated now. I have the children, and he hasthis crazy career.’

Sinitta has starred on the most recent series of Celebs Go Dating alongside fellow stars in the industry.

The line-up includes Love Islanders Laura Anderson, Liam Reardon, former TOWIE cast member Pete Wicks, actor Gary Lucy and Geordie Shore’s Bethan Kershaw.
