The 2025 Oscars was a historic night for many reasons. It was a celebration of groundbreaking achievements, first-time winners, and unforgettable moments. Among the night’s highlights, Storm Reid made her Oscars debut-just two months before graduating college.

“I graduate in two months so I’m very excited about that,” the 21-year-old Emmy Award-winning actress told People Magazine on the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. The 21-year-old continued, telling the outlet that the experience was “surreal.”

Reid continued in her red carpet interview saying that she was “glad this is my first Oscars and I’m not nominated, ’cause I think I would be a wreck. I hopefully will be nominated one day and I’ll know how to move around this place.” she added.

Later in their interview with the starlet, Reid was asked how she will celebrate her pending milestone moment that is on the horizon with college graduation, the Euphoria actress said that there is an exotic graduation trip was in ready and waiting. “The grad trip will be Thailand, so I’m very excited about that. And a dinner here to celebrate myself, my friends. It’s been a long time coming!”

Reid is more than likely counting down the days until graduation. In February of this year, she told People at the TIME Women of the Year Gala that she had a true case of “senioritis.”

“I was in the car crying yesterday because the senioritis is so bad,” Reid said. “I’m so over it and ready to graduate, but I’m just being patient and I’m also trying to cherish each moment. I know it’ll be over in two months and then I’m going to be so sad.”

Although she is ready to put the college experience behind her, Reid told the outlet that she will cherish her college experience because she has “done it all.

“I’ve partied, I’ve stayed out all night. I’ve gone to the games — football, basketball.”

Reid will graduate in May of this year from the University of Southern California with a degree in dramatic arts at and a minor in African American studies.
