Victoria Monét’s 5-year-old daughter, Hazel, makes another musical appearance on her mother’s latest album, Frequency of Love.
Hazel appears alongside Monét and Leon Thomas on “You Mean the World to Me,” where she receives official artist and vocalist credits.
Spanning 22 tracks, Frequency of Love examines love in its many forms, including romance, self-acceptance, family and motherhood.
“The album covers many bases, including love for my daughter, love for the world, what I want to see for it,” Monét told the Associated Press.
Following the album’s Oct. 2 release, Monét posted a heartfelt message thanking Hazel for standing by her throughout the project.
“Thank you for your patience and understanding and unconditional love while mommy was in school, while I made this album, every time I had to step out of the door without you and when work didn’t end once I got back home!” she wrote on Instagram.

She added, “I am so honored to have you as a feature on this album (you sound soooo beautiful) and I am so proud of your growth in every way, your natural empathy, your humor, your respect, the way you love and your undeniable talent! Forevemore, Its you and me baby.”
Hazel first appeared on one of her mother’s albums at age 2, contributing to Monét’s 2023 project Jaguar II. The toddler joined Earth, Wind & Fire on “Hollywood,” a track that received a Grammy nomination for Best Traditional R&B Performance.
That recognition made Hazel the youngest Grammy nominee in history.
In a 2023 interview with Billboard, Monét said her daughter was still too young to grasp the importance of the achievement.
“I’m so proud of her, but she has no idea,” Monét said.
Monét went on to collect three Grammy Awards in 2024, including Best New Artist, while Jaguar II won Best R&B Album. Frequency of Love also includes appearances from SZA, Bruno Mars, Lucky Daye, Bryson Tiller and Chlöe. Monét is scheduled to launch her North American Frequency of Love Tour on Oct. 27.
