Rod Stewart Health Update: What Happened To Rod Stewart?
Sir Rod Stewart has cancelled his Geelong show at the Mt. Duneed Estate just hours before it was set to commence due to a mystery illness.
The performance is a stop on the Australian portion of the 78-year-old British rock icon’s tour with Jon Stevens and Cyndi Lauper.
He posted the bad news to his Instagram account on Saturday six hours before he was supposed to appear on stage.
Rod Stewart, Cyndi Lauper, and Jon Stevens’ scheduled show tonight at Mt. Duneed Estate in Geelong has been postponed due to illness, according to a statement from Live Nation and Roundhouse Entertainment.
‘We apologize for the disappointment and inconvenience for ticket holders. A further announcement regarding the concert arrangements will be made early next week.’
Stewart shared the message with a broken heart emoji in the caption.
Given that all three performers shared the same cancellation message on their Instagram accounts, it is unclear which of the three is ill.
While Stevens, 61, merely stated: “Important announcement,” Lauper, 69, captioned her statement on social media with the phrase “Reposting from Sir Rod Stewart.”
The performance is a stop on the British rock icon’s Australian tour with Jon Stevens and Cyndi Lauper.
The trio’s performance in Adelaide on Tuesday raises additional questions about how this mysterious illness will impact the remainder of the tour.
On March 25 and 26, they will travel to Mt. Cotton in Queensland, and on March 29, they will journey back to Sydney.
The concluding two concerts of the tour will be held in New South Wales, the first in Hunter Valley on April 1 and the last in Bowral on April 2.
Stewart has been contacted by Daily Mail Australia for feedback.
