John Fox, 42, faces charges of reckless driving, fleeing law enforcement, methamphetamine possession, possession of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license.

In a probable cause affidavit, deputies said they spotted a sports motorcycle with an obscured tag near Citrus Boulevard and Bahaia Street just after 11:30 a.m.

Following the motorcycle tracks through the dirt, deputies found the bike abandoned in the woods, and they began searching for the driver, the affidavit shows.

Fox was spotted around 80 yards into the wood line, though he had a knife in his hand and was walking toward the deputies, according to the sheriff’s office.

The affidavit stated deputies drew their guns and ordered Fox to drop the knife. He obeyed, putting his hands up and lying on the ground.

Deputies said they found a black backpack on him that held around 8 grams of fentanyl and 3 grams of methamphetamine.

In addition, Fox told deputies he had bought the motorcycle for $150 under the agreement that he would make “several deliveries” to Orlando, deputies added. However, it turned out that the motorcycle had been reported stolen out of Rockledge, deputies explained.

Fox is being held on a bond of $63,000.
