ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A bomb threat received via voicemail at an Orange County church and daycare turned out to be a false alarm, according to church officials who addressed the incident on social media.
The unsettling message was discovered by staff at Conway Christian Academy and Conway Learning Centers around 5 p.m. The voicemail ominously mentioned an explosive device allegedly planted at the Sanctuary Church Worship Center. In response, the church immediately alerted the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and evacuated the building, ensuring the swift and safe dismissal of students, teachers, and staff.
Upon arrival, the sheriff’s office carried out an exhaustive search of the Worship Center and its surroundings. Fortunately, no explosives or suspicious items were found, and deputies subsequently declared the area safe for regular activities to resume.
Church representatives confirmed that all emergency protocols were diligently followed, reassuring the public that everyone involved remained out of harm’s way throughout the ordeal.
Church officials said emergency procedures were followed as designed and emphasized that no one was ever in physical danger.
“The safety of our students and staff remains our highest priority. While this was a distressing event, our emergency procedures were followed precisely, and at no point was anyone in physical danger,” the church said in their statement.
