CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WWLP) – A serious incident unfolded in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on Monday afternoon, leaving two individuals critically injured in what authorities described as an “active shooter situation.”
Law enforcement officers were dispatched to the scene around 1:20 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting involving state police. According to investigators, Cambridge police had been alerted by the Boston Police Department about a man, reportedly armed with a rifle, displaying erratic behavior and potentially heading toward Cambridge.
Both Massachusetts State Police and Cambridge police responded swiftly, encountering what was deemed an “active shooter situation” by officials.
