The Tolono Fire Protection District is set to honor a team of first responders on Monday for their heroic actions during a critical emergency earlier this year in Tolono, Illinois.
On January 11, a life-threatening situation unfolded when members of the Tolono Fire Department, alongside Carle Arrow Ambulance, were dispatched to a local home following reports of cardiac arrest. Upon their arrival, Tolono Police Department officers were already administering CPR and had deployed an automated external defibrillator (AED) in an effort to revive the victim.
