CHATHAM, Ill. (WCIA) — The Chatham Police Department is advising parents to have a serious discussion with their children about a hazardous and unlawful activity gaining traction among teenagers: the “door-kicking challenge.”

In a recent Facebook post, authorities described the “challenge” as a scenario where teenagers film themselves forcefully kicking a home’s door late at night and then fleeing. This reckless act is designed to simulate a home invasion, with the main goal being to capture the homeowner’s reaction for online sharing.
