GROVETOWN, Ga. () – On Tuesday April 23rd, officers with the Grovetown Police Department responded to Next Generation Learning Center located at 325 Old Wrightsboro Road, in reference to a Simple Battery incident involving an employee and a child.
Once on scene, Officers learned that a parent had arrived to pick up their child and found them to be visibly upset and inconsolable.
The parent then contacted the police department and requested to view video of the days’ events. Once on scene, the business manager allowed Officers to view video footage captured on the businesses surveillance system.
In reviewing the recordings, it was discovered that an employee, 26-year-old Lataya Regine-Monae Davis, of Grovetown, approached a 1-year-old toddler on the playground and pushed the child in his torso with her foot, at which time he fell and landed in a seated position.
