DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — A 65-year-old man is dead after a shooting in Decatur Monday evening.
Around 6:48 p.m., the Decatur Police Department responded to reports of a gunshot victim at 838 S. Jasper St. When they arrived, they found the victim with multiple gunshot wounds. Multiple shell casings were found near the victim.
Detectives were called in to process the scene and to interview witnesses.
Lieutenant Scott Rosenbery said the department doesn’t believe the incident is a random act of violence. He added that they will continue to follow up with local residents and businesses.
