A man was apprehended on Saturday at the Trump Doral National Golf Club in Miami following a confrontation with a Secret Service agent, according to federal authorities.

At the time of the incident, President Trump was not present at the location.

The altercation took place around 4:15 p.m. at a security checkpoint manned by the Secret Service and local law enforcement. The individual reportedly “became disruptive and failed to comply with lawful orders,” eventually making “physical contact” with an agent, detailed Michael Townsend, the Acting Special Agent in Charge of the Secret Service’s Miami field office, in an official statement.

The suspect was promptly detained and has been charged by the Doral Police Department with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest without violence.

“This incident did not compromise the security measures in place for any prospective visits to Trump Doral National Golf Club by Secret Service protectees,” assured Townsend.

The man who allegedly caused the disturbance was being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami, according to police. No further information was available.

The incident comes one week after an armed man rushed past security at a Washington, D.C., press gala that Trump and cabinet members were attending. The suspect, Cole Allen, is being held on charges of trying to assassinate the president.
