ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida is getting a short-lived window of drier, less humid weather, offering a good opportunity to spend time outside before a wetter pattern takes hold this weekend. While an isolated shower or thunderstorm cannot be ruled out today, rain coverage will be much lower than usual.

Breezy conditions will continue through the next several days, as northeast winds build to 15 to 20 mph this afternoon. Wind gusts may reach 25 to 30 mph at times.
An influx of drier air will limit shower activity across the region, keeping rain chances between 20% and 30% for most Central Florida communities.
Afternoon highs will reach the mid to upper 80s, with a modest dip in humidity for some locations near and northwest of Interstate 4. Dew points in those areas could fall into the upper 60s, making conditions feel a bit more comfortable.
Beachgoers should remain cautious despite the sunnier break. A high risk of dangerous, potentially life-threatening rip currents remains in effect, while rough surf and hazardous boating conditions continue along the coast.
Weekend
The Central Florida weather forecast turns more unsettled as the weekend approaches, with deeper moisture returning and an upper-level low pressure system crossing the state.

That setup is expected to bring scattered to widespread showers and thunderstorms each day, pushing rain chances up to 70% to 80%.
Some storms could become strong, producing frequent lightning, wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph and localized rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches. Minor flooding may develop in areas that see multiple rounds of heavy rain.
Temperatures will stay close to normal for this time of year, with daytime highs in the upper 80s and overnight lows in the 70s.
