FBI Director Kash Patel and country singer Alexis Wilkins are engaged, the couple announced Sunday evening in a post on X.
Wilkins, 27, shared a black-and-white photograph of herself alongside Patel, 46, holding up her hand to display the engagement ring. “Went and got the law involved,” she wrote in the caption. The couple had been together before Patel became FBI director in 2025, and Wilkins attended his swearing-in ceremony.
A country singer and political commentator, Wilkins released her debut album in 2023. She has ties to conservative organizations and says on her website that her work “honors country tradition while adding relevance and current commentary.”

Patel reposted Wilkins’ engagement announcement as he continues to face scrutiny over trips aboard government aircraft that had no known or apparent law enforcement purpose. Among them was a flight on an FBI jet to State College, Pennsylvania, for a professional wrestling event at which Wilkins performed the national anthem. In photos she later posted on social media, the pair smiled together as Wilkins held an oversized gold championship belt.
Wilkins also drew attention as a performer at President Donald Trump’s Great American State Fair on the National Mall, an event organized as part of America 250. Several other artists withdrew after learning that it would not be a nonpartisan celebration.
