SAVANNAH, Ga. () — Next month, the Chatham County Health Department (CCHD) is offering free mammograms to eligible women through a mobile screening unit.
Organized by the Georgia Breast and Cervical Cancer Program (BCCP), this initiative aims to improve access to life-saving breast cancer screenings. Breast cancer remains the second most prevalent cancer diagnosis, yet early detection through regular screenings can significantly mitigate the risk.
Screenings are available by appointment only, open to women aged 40 and older with no health insurance or limited coverage. Appointments can be scheduled by calling the BCCP at 912-356-2946.
