GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — The Greene County Commission approved a resolution on Monday to allocate more than $300,000 in opioid settlement funds to Strong Futures, an addiction and mental healthcare facility located in the county.
The commission passed the resolution during Monday night’s regularly scheduled meeting, which will allow $330,064 in settlement proceeds from the Opioid Abatement Council to be allocated to the Greeneville outpatient facility.
According to the resolution, the funds will help Strong Futures “assist in its efforts to combat drug addiction and to ensure Greene County Government’s compliance with the requirements issued by Opioid Abatement Council.”
Strong Futures is a Ballad Health facility located at 438 E. Vann Road in Greeneville. According to its website, the clinic aims to bring a “life-changing, healing approach to addiction and mental healthcare for mothers and fathers.”
The clinic specializes in behavioral health counseling in a holistic family approach. Along with group family and relationship counseling, the clinic offers parenting skills education, relapse prevention services, financial stability counseling and several other programs.
Among the center’s patients are expectant mothers, mothers or fathers with children under 18 at home, or mothers or fathers with children under 18 who are attempting to regain custody.
