FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A repeated traffic offender was arrested again after a high-speed chase early Saturday morning, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.

The chase started when deputies watched the vehicle go through a stop sign while leaving a Circle K gas station. Deputies attempted a traffic stop, but the car fled at high speed.

At the intersection of SR-100 and Seminole Woods Parkway, the car went through a red light and almost crashed into another driver.

Deputies estimated the driver was traveling at over 100mph in a 50mph zone.

The vehicle tried to go onto I-95, but was unable to make the turn and crashed into a light pole along the on-ramp. The driver then tried to run on foot after getting out of his crashed car, when a nearby highway patrol trooper stopped him.

The body camera video shows the officer running to the highway patrol trooper who was on top of Boone, waiting for the deputies.

“He was running from me… that wasn’t smart,” said the deputy.

The high-speed driver was identified as 30-year-old Christopher Boone.

Deputies found Boone didn’t have a Florida driver’s license and had multiple active suspensions. He also had previous arrests for grand theft and possession of cocaine.

Boone was arrested for driving with a suspended license, resisting an officer without violence, reckless driving and charges for leaving the scene of an accident with property damage.

“This guy is a habitual traffic offender with no valid license, yet he continues to endanger other drivers,” said Sheriff Staly. “I’m glad the only car that was damaged was his, nobody was injured or killed by his reckless driving, and this ended with him being taken to the Green Roof Inn, where he belongs.”

Boone was taken to a local hospital for medical treatment after the car crash. Once cleared, he went to jail and was released on a $15,500 bond.
