JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — In a significant development, a Johnson City resident faces charges of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor following a search of his residence, which was supported by a specially trained electronics detection dog.
The Johnson City Police Department (JCPD) revealed in a press release that their special victims unit apprehended 59-year-old Jeffrey Goodman on Thursday.
According to police reports, the investigation began with a cyber-tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, prompting authorities to secure a search warrant for Goodman’s property.
On Thursday morning, law enforcement executed the search warrant, with K9 Buck—a dog skilled in detecting electronic storage—playing a pivotal role in the operation.
“During the search, numerous electronic items such as laptop computers, a phone, storage devices, and a television were confiscated,” stated the release. “Each of these items will undergo thorough analysis for potential evidence.”
According to the JCPD, Goodman could face more charges. He was transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
