CENTRAL ILLINOIS (WCIA) – Thursday night marked a significant achievement in local high school girls’ basketball as the regional championships unfolded. Among the standout performances, Champaign Central celebrated a historic victory, securing their first regional title since 2010.
In the Class 3A matchups, Champaign Central triumphed over Mahomet-Seymour with a score of 53-46, clinching a long-awaited regional win. Meanwhile, Lincoln emerged victorious against Mt. Zion, finishing the game at 50-39. Additionally, Glenwood claimed a decisive victory over Highland, ending with a scoreline of 49-37.
