INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WCIA) — The excitement is palpable as Illini fans flood Indianapolis, proudly sporting their orange and blue, in anticipation of the team’s first Final Four appearance in over two decades.
On Friday, Lucas Oil Stadium became a sea of Illini supporters as approximately 17,000 fans attended a free open practice session. The atmosphere was electric as Illinois prepared for their semifinal showdown on Saturday. Throughout the day, Illinois enthusiasts were a dominant presence at the NCAA “Fan Fest” held at the Indiana Convention Center, as well as the lively March Madness Tailgate on Georgia Street.
