INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WCIA) — Two years after the Huskies eliminated the Fighting Illini in the Elite Eight, only one player from that Illinois team is still on the roster: Ty Rodgers.
That crushing defeat to UConn marked the last game Rodgers played for Illinois. Since then, he has spent a year as a redshirt and has been sidelined for the entirety of the 2025-26 season due to injury. Despite his absence from the court, the junior guard has continued to have a significant influence on the program.
