TAMPA, Fla (WFLA) – A Tampa woman facing numerous felonies for having sexual interactions with middle schoolers was ordered Monday morning to stay in jail until trial.
Alyssa Zinger, 23, was rearrested last week after Tampa Police detectives learned of four new victims ages 12 to 15, who alleged they were sexually involved with Zinger.
She was originally arrested in November of 2023 when the first victim came forward.
According to police, Zinger told the victims she was 14 years old and a homeschooled student.
Evidence presented during a pretrial detention hearing showed that Zinger communicated with the victims through social media apps like Snapchat and TikTok.
“What we know is you have been involved with these boys, you have been the adult, you have been preying on them, you have been taking advantage of them, you have been abusing them,” Judge Laura Ward told the suspect.
Although there is no evidence that Zinger committed additional crimes since being released from jail last year, Judge Ward shared she isn’t confident the suspect wouldn’t reoffend.
Zinger has allegedly been living with her parents since her release. Her parents were accused of giving Tampa Police detectives a phone that didn’t belong to Zinger during a search warrant.
The alleged misinformation prompted police to return to the Zinger home where the suspect told police her phone was lost.
“Unfortunately, your parents have compounded the situation, and I understand they were trying to help you, but they have made it worse” Judge Ward said.
