NORTH DAKOTA () — Three state lawmakers announced they’re running for another term on Thursday.

Senator Jerry Klein along with representatives Jon Nelson and Robin Weisz say they’re running once again in District 14.

Klein is from Fessenden and serves as the senate assistant majority leader, Nelson is a retired farmer from Rugby, and Weisz is a farmer and businessman from Hurdsfield.

All three have served in the legislature since 1997.

“You know, 28 years we’ll be serving, but I think there’s still some gas in the tank yet, and I would certainly hope that I would get the support of District 14,” Rep. Weisz said.

“We saw turnover in the legislature, at, you know, sometimes 30% of the legislature would turnover without term limits, and in addition to policy makers, we’re seeing a lot of turnover in the legislative councils, some of the research organizations that help us,” Rep. Nelson said.

Weisz chairs the House Human Services Committee, while Nelson serves on the House Appropriations Committee.
