In a concerted effort to enforce law and order, a two-day operation in late May led to the successful capture of several fugitives evading probation or parole in the Bristol area, straddling the Tennessee and Virginia border. This initiative underscores the commitment of local and federal law enforcement agencies to uphold justice and community safety.
The Bristol, Virginia Police Department (BVPD) spearheaded this operation, collaborating closely with the Virginia Department of Corrections Probation and Parole Division, the U.S. Marshals Service, as well as sheriff’s offices from Washington County, Virginia, and Sullivan County, Tennessee. This multi-agency approach highlights the importance of cooperation in addressing cross-jurisdictional criminal issues.
During the operation, law enforcement officers targeted 35 locations linked to individuals with outstanding warrants. Their efforts, which took place over May 26 and 27, involved direct contact attempts and follow-up investigations to ensure thoroughness in tracking down those who had absconded.
