GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A man charged in connection with the drug overdose death of a 20-year-old Greeneville woman pleaded guilty in part of a plea deal on Wednesday.
Preston Romez Moore took a ‘best interest’ plea deal and pleaded guilty to the following charges relating to the death of Caitlin Crum:
- Abuse of a corpse
- Failure to report the discovery of a dead body
- Tampering with evidence
Moore was sentenced to eight years in prison.
On Nov. 7, 2021, deputies found Crum deceased inside a home on West Barton Ridge Road. Her cause of death was discovered to be an “overdose caused by methamphetamine and fentanyl intoxication.”
An investigation by the Greeneville Police Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation determined Moore had been with Crum at the time of her death, failed to contact police and left her body at the home.
