In Savannah, Georgia, Jordan and Jeremy Tuten celebrated the arrival of their second child, Jett Ryder, at 12:16 a.m. on New Year’s Day at the Telfair BirthPlace within Candler Hospital.
Jett holds the distinction of being the first baby born in Savannah in the new year. Despite this, the Tuten family calls Ridgeland, South Carolina home. They decided to head to the hospital on New Year’s Eve as a precautionary measure when Jordan felt she might be dehydrated. With Jett originally due on January 19, his early arrival was an unexpected surprise.
However, Jett was eager to make his debut. After being admitted, Jordan experienced labor for a mere nine minutes before Jett made his entrance into the world.
Jett’s older brother, Jack, has only seen him through FaceTime so far. Jordan is hopeful that she and her newborn will be able to return home by Friday.
Jett was born measuring 18 inches in length and weighing 7 pounds, 12 ounces—the exact same weight as his brother Jack at birth.
In addition to the whole family sporting “J” names, dad and the two boys also share the same initials J.R.T.
