Milder Saturday Ahead with Isolated Afternoon Storms

Highs climb into the mid 90s.

ORLANDO, Fla. – As the weekend approaches, Central Florida is set to experience a dip in rain likelihood, thanks to drier conditions being ushered in from the Gulf. This means that temperatures will soar into the mid-90s, with heat indices surpassing the 100ºF mark.

Saturday

This Saturday, the presence of dry air in the atmospheric mid levels will lead to only sporadic rain chances. Rain likelihood will peak at 30-40% across the region. Showers are expected to begin around lunchtime along I-75, moving eastward. These isolated showers will culminate with potential storms along the 95 corridor as the east coast sea breeze encounters westerly winds later in the afternoon. Expect these storms to taper off by 8 p.m., with temperatures reaching the mid-90s and “feels like” figures between 100 and 105ºF.

Sunday

Sunday brings a slight increase in rain chances as some moisture from a weak frontal boundary to the north reaches the Southeast. This could trigger scattered afternoon storms along the sea breeze after a dry start to the day. Storms are likely to initiate near I-75 and progress towards the I-95 corridor as the day unfolds.
