LINCOLN COUNTY, Ga. () – The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners has welcomed D’Metric P. Barksdale as the new representative for the 3rd District.
Commissioner Barksdale is set to serve the 3rd District until December 31, 2026.
Barksdale steps in to succeed Cooper Cliatt, who stepped down earlier this month.
“We are eager to collaborate with Commissioner Barksdale as she assumes her responsibilities on the Board,” stated Chairman Walker T. Norman, who expressed his support for Barksdale. “She has my backing, along with that of the county attorney and department heads, as she embarks on her role with the Board of Commissioners.”
A special election will coincide with the General Election on November 3, 2026. The victor of this election will complete the remaining two years of the term from January 1, 2027, to December 31, 2028.
