EFFINGHAM COUNTY, Ga. () – Effingham County has posted an updated list of upcoming closures for railroad maintenance in the area.

Current closures per CSX railroad:

March 10  

Goshen Road – Work will take at least three days

McCall Road — Work will take at least three days

West 5th Street –Work will take at least five days

March 11

West 15th Street (AKA Pickett Fences neighborhood) — This will be a one-day closure from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

March 12-13

West 9th Street – This crossing will close once either the one at Goshen Road or McCall Road is reopened. It will take at least three days to complete.

CSX estimates that the crossings at West 6th Street and Johnson Street will occur March 13 or the following week. Once closed, the work on them will take at least three days to finish.

The schedule for all crossing work is dependent on the weather.

In the post, Effingham County stated it has reached out to CSX railroads about increasing the number of detour signs to better inform the public of the current closures and alternate routes.
