NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. – Residents of North Augusta are set to experience improved safety measures with the introduction of a new piece of firefighting equipment.
On Friday, April 17, the North Augusta Department of Public Safety proudly presented their latest acquisition: a state-of-the-art tanker truck.
According to officials, this advanced vehicle equips them with essential tools to combat and prevent devastating fires more effectively.
“One of the key features of this truck is its rotatable dump tank and chute, which allows us to easily access and discharge water from either side of the vehicle,” explained Junior Johnson, Director of North Augusta Public Safety. “Keeping our fire apparatus updated with the latest technology is crucial for the safety of our firefighters and fellow citizens on the road.”
The new tanker truck was procured from Pierce Manufacturing in Florida earlier this week, marking a significant upgrade in the city’s firefighting capabilities.
