AUGUSTA, Ga. () – In a significant crackdown on gang-related activities and violent crime, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office Gang Unit has successfully wrapped up Operation Red Recoil.

This intensive five-day operation, which spanned from May 12 to May 16, led to the arrest of numerous individuals. It was a concerted effort involving close collaboration with several local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office has published the results of Operation Red Recoil, detailing the outcomes of their efforts.

Suspected Gang Members Arrested: 24
Firearms Recovered: 29
U.S. Currency Seized: $33,520
Marijuana Seized: 5,124 grams (11.18 lbs)
Cocaine Seized: 40 grams
Fentanyl Seized: 676 grams (1.49 lbs)
Methamphetamine Seized: 3.3 grams
Oxycodone Seized: 75 pills
Residential Search Warrants Executed: 8
Stolen Vehicles Recovered: 2
Total Arrests: 74
DUI Arrests: 21
Citations Issued: 81
Warnings Issued: 126

“Our community will not stand for violent crime, illegal drugs, and gang activities,” declared Sheriff Eugene Brantley in an official statement. “I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the agencies that joined forces with us for this operation, showing immense dedication and aiding in the removal of violent criminals from Augusta’s streets.”
