JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Over the weekend, residents of the Tri-Cities found themselves delving into the mysteries of the unknown at the Para-tech Symposium, a fascinating two-day event dedicated to the paranormal.
This event, designed to be family-friendly, showcased a variety of intriguing artifacts and information covering topics like Bigfoot, cryptids, UFOs, gothic stories, and the technology used by paranormal investigators.
The symposium featured numerous speakers and groups eager to discuss phenomena from beyond our usual understanding.
“If you have questions, this is the place to explore them,” expressed John Dixon from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON). “We invite you to share your stories; we are eager to hear them. We aim to comprehend the occurrences around us because every story holds truth. It’s an experience the storyteller has lived. We have no reason to doubt it, and if there’s something that warrants investigation, these are the experts who can pursue it.”
Jerry Millwood, from North Carolina Investigates, also urged attendees to come forward and share their own experiences with the paranormal.
“If you have seen something strange and unusual, you’re not, you’re not by yourself,” Millwood said. “You’re not crazy. Like John said, this is a judgment-free zone. We want people to know that they can come and speak freely about what they’ve experienced without fear of, being ostracized or made fun of or anything.”
The event continues Saturday until 6:30 and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 1109 Old Gray Station Road.
