KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — Kingsport’s annual paving program is set to begin soon, the city announced Wednesday.
Paving work will take place in Fairacres, Tellico Hills and Eastern Highlands neighborhoods (Area 17), the city said in a release. The area is bound by the neighborhoods north of Watauga Street, Center Street, west of Eastman Road and east of and including Linville Street and the Watauga Street intersection.
W&L Construction will begin paving around 1.7 miles of Tellico Hills streets this spring. The cost of the project is approximately $698,000, the city said.
The remaining roads in Area 17 will be repaved or the concrete surface will be repaired throughout the 2024 paving season.
Kingsport reportedly allocated $3.4 million in the 2024 Fiscal Year budget for contractors and crews to pave.
