SAVANNAH, Ga. () — The City of Savannah’s Recreation and Leisure Services Department is ready to kick-start construction and upgrades on two major Savannah parks.

In the second week of September, Daffin Park will undergo construction of a new signature playground, which is estimated to last four months. The new playground is one of the largest single investments made under the city’s Recreation Re-Imagined Initiative.

The playground will be fully ADA-compliant, will serve children ages 2 to 12 and will include a new restroom and a splashpad. It will be located at the northwest corner of the park.

Forsyth Park’s playground will undergo upgrades starting in the first week of September to replace rubber surfaces and worn-down wood fiber. The playground will be closed during renovations, which are expected to last two weeks, according to the city.
